GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge, which carries Main Street across the Fox River in downtown Green Bay, is closed to traffic.
Crews will be replacing pins, slots and shims in the bridge. It closed this morning (MON) and is expected to remain closed for a about three weeks.
Green Bay’s Department of Public Works director, Steve Grenier, says repairs will cost nearly $78,000.
DETOUR ROUTES:
Main Street will be closed from Broadway west of the river to Washington Street east of the river. Traffic will be detoured across the river using the Walnut Street bridge. Drivers can also use the Mason Street Bridge to cross the river.
Drivers should expect backups and are encouraged to find alternate routes.
