GREEN BAY (WTAQ-WLUK) – A woman who allegedly stopped giving first aid to a man overdosing on heroin to attend to her chicken dinner has been convicted in his death.
Colleen Sweeney-Pratt, 57, pleaded no contest Tuesday to first-degree reckless homicide for the Dec. 23, 2018, death of Todd Zachowski. A count of heroin delivery was dismissed. Sentencing is set for March 20, court records show.
She told police she obtained some heroin, and that she, Zachowski and another man ‘shot up.’
“Todd was lying on the ground and he began to make weird noises. She stated that eventually, she began to give Todd mouth to mouth; however, she had chicken that she was cooking so she left giving him mouth to mouth to attend to the chicken that she was cooking. She said a short time later, (another woman) arrived and began to boss her around. Colleen stated that she “freaked the *** out” and then left and went upstairs to her sister’s house on the tenth floor. Colleen stated that she came back down a little while later, which is when (police) had contact with her,” the complaint states.
Sweeney-Pratt told police she thought Zachowski was fine, which is why they stopped providing first aid.
The other woman was performing CPR when police arrived. Doses of NARCAN were administered but were not effective, the complaint states.
