FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Shauntina Fuller-Pankey was charged Wednesday with reckless homicide for allegedly causing the death of her 2-month-old child.
Fuller-Pankey, 26, was expected to make an initial appearance in court today.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a home on Merrill Avenue on June 25, 2018, because of the girl’s condition. The girl died shortly afterwards.
The autopsy revealed the child had a large skull fracture. Fuller-Pankey initially denied any role in the baby’s death, but in an interview with police earlier this month admitted “it is my fault”, the complaint states.
“Shauntina then described trying to get the stroller ready to take the girls for a walk and she must have bumped (the child’s) head getting the stroller ready. Detective Ledger informed Shauntina that bumping her head on the stroller wouldn’t’ cause the injury. Shauntina then said she had the stroller in both hands and RRP’s head hit a wooden door,” the complaint says.
Fuller-Pankey also faces one count of physical abuse of a child.
A cash bond of $500,000 was set at a previous bond hearing, court records show.
