WASHINGTON, DC (WTAQ) — Green Bay’s Mayor is in Washington DC this week for the United States Conference of Mayors.
Mayor Eric Genrich has a few things on his agenda for the conference that he hopes to speak with other mayors about.
“Folks know well in Green Bay some of these climate issues, like flooding issues,” Genrich told WTAQ from Washington. “It’s something a lot of Mayors are facing. Also affordable housing and homelessness, just a few of the issues we’ve touched on already.”
The gathering of around 400 mayors is in DC for a reason, they’re looking for the federal government’s help with local infrastructure problems.
“We’re looking for our federal government to really step up and make the investments that we need to make the investments in our roads and stormwater infrastructure…to really bring us into the 21st century,” Genrich said.
Genrich and the mayoral delegation will also travel to the White House during the conference.
