OSHKOSH (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new website is making it easier for volunteers to find opportunities in the Oshkosh area.
The Oshkosh Area United Way launched VolunteerOshkosh.org Wednesday.
The website serves as a one-stop destination for those interested in volunteering their time and making a difference in the community.
Organizations can post volunteer opportunities with a detailed description of the work needed, while volunteers can search for opportunities based on their interests and skill levels.
Cameron Wengrzyn of the Oshkosh Area United Way says they saw this to be a real need in the community.
“From an organization standpoint, we’re really hoping nonprofit agencies and organizations within Oshkosh see a large number or large boost in numbers of people volunteering and signing up for the needs that they have through their organizations. We also hope that we become a resource and an answer when anyone asks the question in the Oshkosh area, ‘how can I volunteer?’ or ‘how can I find different opportunities that might interest me to volunteer for my community?’” Wengrzyn says.
The site is free for anyone to use.
