STURGEON BAY (WTAQ-WLUK) – Sturgeon Bay police say a man who was arrested for stealing a vehicle and breaking into a garage was verbally and physically abusive toward officers during his arrest.
Police say it all started just after 11 p.m. Monday when they received a report of a stolen vehicle in progress in the 1500 block of Egg Harbor Rd.
The vehicle had been left running in a parking lot.
When officers arrived, they could not find the stolen vehicle.
Later that night, a homeowner in the 1600 block of Rhode Island Place told police an unknown person entered their garage and tried to hide behind another residence.
The 27-year-old man was located and taken into custody.
Police are identifying the suspect as Jacob Miller.
Police say during his arrest, Miller physically resisted and damaged a squad car. Miller was then taken to the hospital where officers say he made homicidal statements to kill an officer many times. Miller is also accused of spitting and kicking at officers during his arrest.
Police say they recommending the following charges against Miller: Operating a Motor vehicle without Owner’s Consent, Trespass to a Dwelling, Operating While Under the Influence (1st Offense), Resisting/Obstructing an Officer, Battery or threat to judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer, and Throwing or Discharging Bodily Fluids at a Public Safety Worker. He also being held on a probation hold.
No formal charges have been filed.
