FREEDOM (WTAQ) – A 2-year-old child reported missing in Freedom was found safe less than two hours later.
Around 11 a.m. Thursday, Outagamie County deputies received a report of a girl going missing from an apartment.
More than 100 law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMS personnel responded to look for the girl.
Just before 12:30 p.m. the child was found safe in a nearby apartment where a neighbor was caring for the child while waiting to locate her parents.
Officers say the girl had wandered away on her own while her parents were sleeping.
