FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ) – The Department of Justice is identifying the officers and subject involved in a fatal police shooting in the village of Fox Crossing last week.
Fox Crossing, Menasha, and Neenah police responded to the 900 block of Clover Street, where 35-year old Michael Jolly reportedly refused officer demands to drop a firearm. Fox Crossing Officer Corey Colburn and Neenah Police Officer Austin Riska opened fire.Despite life-saving efforts, Jolly died from his injuries.
Colburn is a nine-year veteran of the force, while Riska has served for two years. Both officers are on administrative leave.
The DOJ’s final report will be sent to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s office to consider any potential charges.
