LEDGEVIEW, WI (WTAQ) – Brown County deputies report one person is in custody after they released surveillance photos to identify a number of Ledgeview burglary suspects this week.
Deputies say they have identified approximately 20 people who entered the property.
18-year old Seth Owens appeared in court Friday, where he was charged with three counts of burglary. Those are related to incidents on August 13, 14, and 16th. He will return to court November 20th.
Owens reportedly has admitted to taking items from the property, but cooperated in returning them. No others have been taken into custody, and a number of them are juveniles.
Police claim the home was broken into 14 times between July 6th and August 16th. It’s unclear if everyone who came forward is guilty, or if there are still more people involved.
The Sheriff’s Office says there were six calls to the property in 2016, along with one last year. It is reportedly overgrown and in need of maintenance. Officials believe the property being described as “spooky” has contributed to the number of break-ins. The home is owned, but not currently occupied. Owners have arranged for cameras to be set up around the premises and inside the home.
Police ask people to stay away from the home, reminding everyone that it is illegal to enter and could be dangerous due to unstable areas or other potential hazards.
