FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – Two Georgia residents were arrested Monday after they were caught on video throwing puppies into a retention pond.
Fond Du Lac Police were called to West Rolling Meadows Drive and South Hickory Street after it was reported that two individuals were throwing dogs into the water aggressively.
Officers spoke with witnesses that stated the male was spinning one dog 360 degrees before throwing it 10 to 20 feet in the water. The suspect was also reported to have taken one of the dogs over his head and throw it into the pond.
The 22-year-old male and 20-year-old female were taken into custody for Mistreatment of Animals and Party to a Crime of Mistreatment of Animals.
The dogs were said to be 8 to 9 weeks old.
The Fond du Lac Humane Society is caring for two puppies.
Vets say the puppies had a negative response to blue/green algae and they are on an antibiotic to combat the effects.
