GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The man who shot another man during an argument about a loan was sentenced to three years, four months in prison.
Ricardo Torres was previously convicted of first-degree reckless injury for the Dec. 10 shooting on Western Avenue. He was also placed on extended supervision for four years, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police Richard Torres loaned him money to move from California to Wisconsin, and Ricardo Torres helped him get a job. The victim said Richard Torres at first told him he did not have to pay him back, but eventually, the Torres cousins began calling and harassing the victim about the money.
Prosecutors say on Dec. 10, the four suspects and another man drove to the victim’s home on Western Avenue. Prosecutors say Ricardo Torres got out of the vehicle and shot the victim.
The victim was shot a total of six times but survived.
Richard Torres was sentenced to 18 months in prison on a conviction for aiding a felon. Andrew Flor was sentenced to five years in prison on the same count, court records show.
All three men were sentenced on August 13th.
A fourth suspect, Angel Villalobos, is still at large.
