GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Wisconsin Public Service says customers will see a refund on their electric bills this fall.
As a result of lower-than-expected fuel costs in 2018, the utility company will be issuing $7.1 million in refunds.
The 2018 fuel cost adjustment refund will be a credit of $0.00876 per kilowatt-hour for September electricity use and will appear on September and October bills.
Refunds will vary on the amount of electricity used in September.
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) sets WPS fuel cost rates one year in advance based on forecasted fuel costs.
When the projections are more than 2% higher than the actual fuel costs, the company is required to refund the difference, with interest.
