ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Friday for a new Stadium View building.
It’s just the latest change to come to Holmgren Way in the last couple of years.
Officials add that a number of other projects in the works will spell even more change for the Stadium District.
“Just incredible how the area has exploded from when we started as a lonely sports bar here to what the stadium district has become,” says Stadium View owner Bob Watson.
Stadium View has recently added a second level with a party deck to their building, something that Watson says has generated a lot of positive feedback from visitors.
“This is something that’s been in the works for 15 years. It’s coming together now and seeing our dream become a reality is awesome,” he explains.
Also coming to the area is a new hotel.
“The Legacy hotel will have about 70 units with a bar and restaurant, wellness center, and a rooftop bar as well,” explains David Buck.
Buck, the Principal Planner for the City of Green Bay, says he hopes more developments will come to the area as a result of the Legend Hotel.
“Obviously when you go west to the Titletown District, all of Lombardi is transformed,” he says. “So the Legacy in our mind will be the starting point for more development to go East.”
