OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – One person is dead after a crash on I-41 southbound, south of Wisconsin Highway 44, Sunday morning.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office said the crash involved a semi-tractor/trailer and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, who was a 24-year-old Oshkosh man, was reportedly walking on the interstate.
The semi-tractor/trailer driver was a 55-year-old man from Van Dyne.
The driver, who reportedly tried to avoid the pedestrian, is cooperating with the investigation.
Officials believe that alcohol and drugs were not a factor for the driver.
I-41 was closed for about 6 hours after the crash.
No citations have been issued, and the investigation is ongoing.
