GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Better Business Bureau is warning people to watch out for scams after a recent report of an Oneida woman who lost money after an Asphalt company took advantage of her.
Joyce Diestler learned that after the company she worked with did shotty work and it cost her thousands.
Susan Bach of the Better Business Bureau says there are red flags to look for.”They are from out of state, they are not properly licensed and when you have a problem later, which you always do, it is very difficult to track down the company.”She says many times these people knock on doors and tell people that they see they could make some improvements and they have extra material to use from a previous job.
“A professional asphalt company will never have leftover materials. They are professional and they order what they need for each job.
She says the work will usually not be done well or at all.
If you feel you have been a victim of a scam, you are encouraged to contact the police and report it to the Better Business Bureau.
