GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – It turns out that discount Paul McCartney tickets can be found “Here, There, and Everywhere.”
Sir Paul is playing Lambeau Field this Saturday and those still on the fence about going may be persuaded by ticket prices that continue to fall.
“We’re selling them at, most of them at, a discount,” says Travis Loftus, manager of Ticket King in Ashwaubenon.
According to him, they have a little over 100 tickets to sell and that there are a lot of tickets in the secondary market right now.
Because of that, some people may be experiencing a tough time in trying to sell their own tickets.
“I think some of the face value on the tickets were a little higher priced than what they should’ve been and then I also think there’s a lot of people that bought tickets anticipating that they could resell them,” he says.
Apparently, the trend holds true in Milwaukee, as well.
Mike Holzberger is the owner of Milwaukee-based Connections Ticket Service.
He explains the factors at play in the descending ticket prices.
“The combination of a large number of tickets on the market, a high ticket price and the fact that Lambeau Field seats approximately 60,000-65,000 people for a concert simply translates to too much oversupply for a market the size of Green Bay and for that reason, prices have fallen quite a bit since the show was initially announced,” says Holzberger. “Right now, people can go and buy tickets on the secondary market, in many cases, for half of what the original face value was.”
Closer to home, it means that tickets are going well below face value.
“Our lowest tickets right now are around $70, the average ticket is probably right around $140 for a good seat,” says Loftus. “Then our best seat, we can get you like fourth row on the field for around $500 a ticket, which is a steal for what they originally were going for.”
According to him, the $500 seats were originally priced at $1,200.
Holzberger adds that McCartney is playing on Thursday in Madison at the Kohl Center.
“Which is much much higher demand because that one’s only going to seat 16,000, okay, and that one is actually capturing some of the Green Bay demand for people who don’t want to take a chance with the weather and sit outside,” he says.
McCartney’s Saturday performance at Lambeau Field is set to start at 8 p.m. and there is no opening act scheduled.
