The Wisconsin GLO had a successful debut this weekend.
The expansion franchise in the professional Global Womens Basketball Association hosted the three time league champion Flint Monarchs for a pair of exhibition games this weekend at the Menomonie Nation Arena in Oshkosh.
The GLO won both games handily, 88-58 on Friday night and 79-60 on Saturday night.
The team is made up of former high school and college stars primarily from Wisconsin.
Gabbi Ortiz from Racine, who played collegiately at Oklahoma led the GLO in scoring both nights with 18 and 22 points. Former Green Bay Phoenix standout Allie LeClaire put up 12 Friday and 20 on Saturday when the GLO outscored the Monarchs 30-8 in the 4th Quarter.
Wisconsin will open the regular season on Saturday night hosting the St. Louis Surge in Oshkosh at 7:00 PM. The game can be heard on 1440 AM, 101.9 FM WNFL.
