GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay Police say a 46-year-old Green Bay man who died in police custody over the weekend died on his way to the hospital.
Officers saw the man was in distress after they ended up using a taser on him and handcuffing him but officers and Green Bay Metro Fire/Rescue attempted to save his life.
The original call to police came in about a man pounding on doors, chasing people and causing a disturbance in the 1400 block of Admiral Court.
The man was later found and arrested in the 1400 block of Shirley Street.
During the arrest process, police ended up using a taser on the man.
Police say the same man was arrested for a disturbance earlier in the week at a different residence in Green Bay.
As an outside agency, Appleton Police are investigating the death which is required by state law.
