APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A second man has been charged in a Greenville fatal meth overdose that happened nearly four years ago.
48-year-old Rodolfo Galindo was charged on Friday with first-degree reckless homicide and delivery of methamphetamine following the July 12, 2015, overdose death of David Gruber.
On that date, Gruber was found unconscious inside a Greenville home by police.
According to the criminal complaint, an autopsy determined he died of methamphetamine intoxication.
In 2017, 33-year-old Shane Nollenberg was charged in the case.
Galindo brought meth to Gruber’s home that day, where Nolleberg, Gruber, and another woman were waiting, according to the criminal complaint.
The complaint states that Galindo prepared a dose of meth that was more than Gruber could handle and later administered the shot to Gruber.
Investigators were later informed by a friend of Galindo’s that Galindo watched Gruber die before gathering items inside the home and putting them in his vehicle.
The complaint states that Galindo waited more than three hours after Gruber’s death to notify his mother, who lived next door.
Investigators learned through interviews with friends that Galindo and Gruber had tension because Gruber threatened to tell police that the two were receiving meth through the mail from California.
After reckless homicide charges were dropped Nollenberg pleaded no contest to charges of manufacturing or delivering amphetamines in 2017, according to court records.
He was sentenced to four years in prison and five years of extended supervision.
