GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay Police responded to a pair of shootings Tuesday. Officers have one suspect in custody and say one is still at large.
Officers responded to East Walnut Street for a report of shots fired around 4:40 Tuesday afternoon. Officers learned of the location of the shooting and quickly set up a perimeter around the area.
Spent shell casings from a 9mm handgun and a vehicle with bullet holes in it were located during the investigation.
Officers later learned that a separate shooting had occurred at the Laundromat on South Webster Avenue, following a disturbance involving weapons.
Officers were able to locate a bullet hole in the wall and started to investigate it as a crime scene.
During the investigations, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Doty for a male that had injuries that were consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim was determined to be a juvenile, was provided medical assistance and then released.
Investigators were able to recover some video surveillance that captured the Laundromat shooting, and along with witness statements, they were able to identify the suspect shooter as 22-year-old Michael Stevenson Jones of Green Bay.
Wednesday morning, investigators were able to determine that Jones was possibly at a residence on Beech Tree Drive, and were able to locate him and convince him to surrender.
The gun that officers say was used at the laundromat was recovered.
Charges against Jones are expected to be filed by the Brown County District Attorney.
Investigators believe that the two shootings are connected and that the suspects are associates. The initial investigation revealed the possibility that the shootings are a retaliation from an earlier incident.Police are looking for 22-year-old Trevon Massey of Gren Bay. Officers consider him armed and dangerous.
