FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ_WLUK)- Ground was broken on Mercury Marine’s new expansion.
The project will create a two-story facility for office space.
The facility will be to study noise, vibration and harshness characteristics, with the goal of ensuring a quiet engine for consumers.
Officials say they are not planning on adding more jobs to the area at this time, but it may be something that they will look at in the future.
“Right now there is not a direct increase in employment, but with our increased facilities it will definitely be an opportunity to grow our number of engineers to employ here,” said Tim Reid, vice president of product development told Fox 11.
This is the third major expansion at Mercury Marine in 18 months.
