MANITOWOC (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Manitowoc Company announced Monday it will move its corporate headquarters from Manitowoc to northwest Milwaukee.
The crane manufacturing company says it has already started to transition headquarters employees to a leased space in the Park Plaza office space.
The relocation process is expected to be completed by spring.
The company said about 50 employees are affected by the move.
“Manitowoc’s origin as a Wisconsin based manufacturer dates to 1902. The state has an impressive roster of global manufacturing businesses with a top-level talent pool, and we are excited about the move of our corporate headquarters. We believe this location will strategically create easier accessibility for our customers, shareholders and employees,” said Barry Pennypacker, President and CEO, The Manitowoc Company.
The company says it will sell its former headquarters at 2400 S. 44th Street in Manitowoc. The sale is expected to be complete by spring.
The move comes a year and a half after Manitowoc Company announced the move of its manufacturing operations to Pennsylvania, eliminating 528 jobs in Manitowoc.
