GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) – The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are doing their part to help local children who are coping with traumatic or stressful situations.
Grand Chute Police Officer Travis Waas says his agency will hand out the ‘Buddy Bags’ packed at Fox Cities Stadium Monday to kids who they encounter when out on calls.
“It’s a huge help. We respond to events all the time like this unfortunately; a child that may not be directly involved with where they witnessed something traumatic, they’re scared, they’re afraid, they don’t want to talk, they’re crying; this is something happy that the officer can present to them and take their mind off what’s going on.”
Each bag includes a book, coloring book with crayons, and stuffed animal.
