OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – One of the area’s most popular festivals kicked off its 2017 edition Monday.
EAA AirVenture got underway in Oshkosh.
Organizers expect over 500,000 people from more than 70 different countries will attend the week-long event.
EAA Museum Director Chris Henry believes he knows what makes it so special.
“It’s the people. You just want to be among your family and your friends here with these airplanes.”
Monday’s attractions included a Patriot Parachute Team airshow.
AirVenture is in its 48th year in Oshkosh and 65th year overall.
