WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – The seventh and eighth attorneys assigned to the man accused of initiating a deadly December 2015 standoff have left the case.
Brian Flatoff faces 16 charges in connection with the incident at Eagle Nation Cycles in Neenah.
It ended with a police officer shooting and killing a hostage.
Attorneys Richard Johnson and Eric Maciolek, like multiple of their predecessors, cited difficulties working with Flatoff.
The public defender’s office will appoint a new attorney.
Flatoff’s trial is still scheduled to begin January 8, 2018.
