OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – Four people were arrested early this morning (FRI) after a report of shots fired on Oshkosh’s north side.
Police say the incident began just before 2:30 a.m. in a mobile home park in the 1700 block of Glenwood Drive.
Officers arrived and pulled over a vehicle with four people inside.
According to Officer Joe Nichols it was “basically a high-risk traffic stop.”
All four were arrested:
A 32-year-old Oshkosh man, being a felon in possession of a firearm, recklessly endangering safety by use of a firearm, and bail jumping
A 30-year-old Oshkosh man, being a felon in possession of a firearm and recklessly endangering safety by use of a firearm
A 35-year-old Oshkosh man, being party to the crime of recklessly endangering safety by use of a firearm
A 34-year-old Oshkosh woman, being party to the crime of recklessly endangering safety by use of a firearm
Police say they found a revolver inside the vehicle.
Nichols notes the shots fired may have stemmed from an earlier incident.
“There was a previous incident that had occured outside of the city limits. It may have been retribution for this incident that had occured.”
Nichols calls it a ‘disturbance’ incident but did not have any further details since it was outside Oshkosh Police’s jurisdiction.
It’s not known how man shots were fired, but police say no one was hurt.
Nichols says the park does not have a history of similar incidents.
“Not with shootings. We get called out there every once in awhile for thefts, burglaries. We had an overdose death a few years back.”
