FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A pilot who crashed his plane last month at the Fond du Lac County Airport has died.
Officials say 78-year-old David Spencer died at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah on Tuesday morning.
Spencer and 71-year-old Rafael Chaves crashed their small plane after attempting to return back to the airport due to a mechanical issue on July 28.
The men, who are from Santa Fe, New Mexico, were taken to hospitals.
The FAA continues to investigate the crash.
