July 20 marks the 47th anniversary of the day man landed on the moon. July 21 marks the
5th anniversary of the end of the last shuttle mission.
As a child of the 60's and a downright space nut, it's stunning to me how we have bored of space. I remember a Time magazine article that predicted man on Mars by 1987.
Instead, the Age of Speed gave way to the Information Age and as a result we're more worried about data coming to us than we are, a race, of exploring new frontiers. Commercial space travel may have a future, but it saddens me that the United States is largely stagnate in exploring the stars.
