GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) – A man suffered minor facial injuries after he was attacked in his Grand Chute home.
The 37-year-old man says he heard someone enter the home on Wayman Court around 10:15 p.m. Monday and go into the basement.
The victim confronted the suspect. Police say the suspect then assaulted the victim and then left the house.
“This residence was actually targeted,” says Lt. Randy Reifsteck of the Grand Chute Police Department. “It was not a random act where this individual just chose a residence to try and burglarize.”
Officers searched the area with a police dog, but could not find the suspect.
Police released a partial description of the suspect: a black male, taller than 6′ tall, wearing a green hoodie and gray sweatpants. There is a belief that a second suspect may have been involved, but Reifsteck says that no one saw another person.
Reifsteck adds that, at this point, this break-in is not connected to other recent robberies in the Fox Valley area.
Anyone with information is asked to call Grand Chute Police at (920) 832-1575.
