GREEN LAKE, WI (WTAQ) – A man convicted of killing his estranged wife and the man she was seeing in 2014 was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
35-year-old Nicholas Tuinstra was convicted in February of killing Melissa Tuinstra and Justin Daniels. Melissa Tuinstra and Daniels had been dating for a couple of weeks when they were shot to death in Berlin on September 27 that year.
Melissa Tuinstra had recently filed for divorce.
Following a short recess for shouting expletives, Tuinstra was allowed to return to the courtroom in Green Lake County. He faces two mandatory life prison terms, with the judge deciding if Tuinstra will be eligible for parole and when.
Family members and friends of Melissa Tuinstra and Daniels addressed the court prior to sentencing.
