UNDATED (WTAQ) – The major winter storm heading our way, which is due to arrive Tuesday, is causing communities in Northeast Wisconsin to declare snow emergencies.
These emergencies generally restrict parking so plows can clear roads while not risking damage to vehicles parked on streets.
Here is the list of communities with snow emergencies:
- Allouez — Noon Tuesday to Noon Wednesday. All vehicles must be moved off the village streets by order of the Department of Public Works. Vehicles parked on the streets may be moved or removed at the owner’s expense.
- Ashwaubenon — Noon Tuesday to Noon Wednesday. No vehicle can park on any street (day or night) until the snow emergency is over. Overnight on-street parking will not be granted. Vehicles found parking on-street will be tagged, ticketed and towed at owner’s expense. On Wednesday morning, if your street has been plowed then you make park on-street even though the snow emergency may still be in effect.
- Bellevue — Noon Tuesday to Noon Wednesday. No parking is allowed on any streets. Vehicles parked may be towed or removed at the owner’s expense.
- Clintonville — Noon Tuesday to Noon Wednesday. No vehicles will be allowed to park on the street during this time.
- Green Bay — Noon Tuesday to Noon Wednesday. No vehicles will be allowed to park on the street. Any parked cars on streets could be towed at owner’s expense.
- Howard — Noon Tuesday to Noon Wednesday. During this time parking on the streets is prohibited.
- Manitowoc — 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday, 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday. No parking is allowed on any streets during these times.
- Oshkosh — 9 a.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Thursday. On Tuesday, beginning at 9 a.m., vehicles may park on the side of the street with even-numbered addresses. This will be in effect until 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday. On Wednesday at noon, vehicles will be required to park on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses. This will remain in effect until 9 a.m. on Thursday when it is anticipated that the snow emergency will be lifted. “No Parking” restrictions remain in effect for all vehicles between 2 a.m.-5 a.m., unless your vehicle has a permit.
