ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Northeast Wisconsin bracing for the latest dish of winter weather as a big storm moves into the region Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday.
“As the late morning and early afternoon wear on, snow amounts will increase, the intensity will increase and the winds will pick up,” says NWS Meteorologist Jeff Last. “The afternoon commute home could be pretty treacherous across the Green Bay area.”
Last says folks in the Green Bay area can expect 6 to 9 inches of snow, with heavier totals north and west of Green Bay and lower amounts closer to the lakeshore.
Winds will be out of the northeast at 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 35. That will cause widespread blowing and drifting snow, along with reduced visibility for drivers.
