KENOSHA, WI (WTAQ) – Two people have escaped injury after an award winning Piper aircraft made an emergency landing in a cornfield near the Kenosha airport.
Fire battalion chief Matthew Haerter says the 1959 single-engine plane lost power for some reason, and the pilot did not tilt the aircraft or lose fuel when landing it.
WISN-TV of Milwaukee says the Piper PA-18 is registered to Raymond Cook of Spring Grove, Illinois northwest of Chicago.
The station says the plane won an award at last year’s EAA AirVenture show in Oshkosh.
