(WNFL) – Green Bay Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy says the bye week is “well-needed” after a host of injuries. Rookie receiver Ty Montgomery was added to the list yesterday (Sunday) with an ankle injury during Green Bay’s seven-point home win over San Diego. Starting wideout Davante Adams sat out the game with an injured ankle, and safety Morgan Burnett was not active with his ongoing calf issue. Nose tackle B-J Raji missed the Chargers’ contest with a groin injury from eight days ago, and linebacker Nick Perry sat out with a shoulder problem. Running back Eddie Lacy only had four carries, as he nurses a bad ankle. The Packers’ depth allowed them to start six-and-oh, one of just five unbeaten teams among the 32 in the NFL. One of them is Denver, whom the Packers will play next on November first in the Mile High City.
