OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – The victim in this week’s shooting in downtown Oshkosh after being robbed is able to talk with police.
Authorities say the 47-year-old man is recovering from being shot in the face at UW Hospital in Madison.
The victim told officers he remembered leaving the west side of a business in the 600 block of N. Main Street. He says he was robbed before being shot, and was found inside a vehicle in a rear parking lot of Barley and Hops just after midnight Wednesday.
The Oshkosh Police Department has not released the victim’s name, saying his family doesn’t want it released publicly.
Police are asking anyone with information to call (920) 236-5700. Investigators are particularly interested in talking with anyone who has cameras in the area that may have captured video of the incident.
