GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Much of Wisconsin has been hit with another round of heavy rains Tuesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, as of 12:25 p.m., Green Bay received 2.46 inches of rain over the previous 24 hours. That more than doubled the previous September 8th record of 1.21 inches, set back in 2006.
There was also spots of localized street flooding across Northeast Wisconsin. Kaukauna and the Town of Buchanan were among the places in Outagamie County dealing with flood waters.
Eau Claire picked up an inch as of 9:30 a.m., and Stevens Point got an inch-and-a-third as of 10 a.m.
That was after parts of the region got 5 to 8 inches the previous two days. Street flooding was reported near Fall Creek in Eau Claire County, and at Wautoma in Waushara County.
The National Weather Service issued a new flood warning for the Yellow River at Babcock in South Wood County. The river is expected to go over its banks by early Tuesday evening, and fall back to below its flood stage by Wednesday.
Flash flood warnings and urban and small streams’ advisories are in effect for much of central and east central Wisconsin into the afternoon hours.
Clearing skies are in the forecast once the latest round of storms clears out. A sunny day is in store for all of Wisconsin Wednesday, with highs generally in the 70s.
