(WNFL) – (Milwaukee, WI) — Rookie Taylor Jungmann strikes out a season-high eight, as the Milwaukee Brewers beat San Diego 8-5 last night at Miller Park. Jungmann gave up two runs on six hits in seven innings, as he improved to 6-3. He retired 17-of-18 at one point. Jungmann has now given up two earned runs or less in eight straight games and ten of his eleven big league starts. Milwaukee led 4-1 after the first inning and never looked back. Jonathan Lucroy hit a two-run homer, and Shane Peterson had a two-run triple in that opening frame. Jean Segura hit a two-run single in the eighth. Francisco Rodriguez got his 25th save, as the Crew won two straight for the first time since July 21st. Ian Kennedy took the loss, giving up four runs in seven frames with seven strikeouts. He’s 6-and-10. The Padres have lost two-in-a-row for the first time since July 23rd. The Brewers and San Diego will wrap up their four-game series this afternoon.
