GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Thousands of Packers shareholders attended Tuesday’s annual meeting at Lambeau Field.
The owners come in from all around to talk with other fans and get ready for the upcoming season.
“I’m from Williamsburg Indiana,” said Rod Turner, who drove 9-and-a-half hours to attend his first ever shareholders meeting. “I’ve never been to a game…I don’t know about this year, but I’m going to come sometime. It’s on my bucket list.”
Turner wasn’t the furthest traveler that I ran across. Marcia Cogswell came in from Pensacola Florida.
“Oh but the weather is so nice up here…it’s so hot down there,” said Cogswell.
They were two of the approximately 12,000 shareholders who attended the annual gathering, according to Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy.
Inside the stadium, Murphy and other team officials discussed some of the financial specifics of the Packers.
“We’re very excited about development in our Titletown District,” Murphy said.
The Packers, however, remain quiet about development coming to the west side of Lambeau. Murphy said an announcement will be made in the next few weeks.
The team also unveiled its third alternate uniform, based on uniforms Packers players wore from 1937-1949. The shoulders are gold along with the number. The rest of the jersey is blue.
