MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – A rollover crash Saturday night in Manitowoc has killed one man and injured two other people.
Police say it happened just after 7 p.m. on Calumet Avenue near Interstate 43.
Authorities say 52-year-old Norman Knuth III of Maribel was a passenger in an SUV that exited I-43, struck a utility pole, and crashed as it crossed Calumet Avenue.
Two other people were hurt in the accident. The driver was identified as Norman’s father, 80-year-old Norman Knuth II. Another passenger has been identified as Knuth’s mom, 75-year-old Audrey Knuth.
Police say as the vehicle exited the interstate, it was not able to slow down as it approached Calumet Avenue.
Officers say the extent of their injuries is unknown. Both survivors were wearing their seatbelts. Norman Knuth III was not wearing a seat belt.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
