(WNFL)- The Milwaukee Brewers have signed three of their top picks from last week’s Major League Draft. According to Brewers.com, first-round outfielder Trent Clark signed for slightly above the slotted bonus of $2.7 million for the 15th overall pick. Second-round pitcher Cody Ponce signed for his slotted value of just over $1.1 million. Third-round pitcher Nash Walters signed for close to his slotted value of $646,000. The 18-year-old Clark comes out of Richland High School in Texas. He’ll start his pro career with the Brewers’ rookie league team in Arizona. Walters, an 18-year-old right-hander from Lindale High School in Texas, will join Clark at Arizona. Ponce, a college right-hander from Cal Poly-Ponoma, is heading to the rookie league squad at Helena. All three signed their deals yesterday at Miller Park, where they met reporters. Clark participate in batting practice with the Brewers. Milwaukee’s second pick from last Monday night, University of Virginia left-hander Nate Kirby, has yet to sign. His team is still playing in the College World Series. Brewers.com also reports that fourth-round outfielder Demi Orimoloye of Canada will give up a college scholarship at Oregon to sign with Milwaukee.
