Douglas Uhde (DOC)
NEW LISBON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — A man suspected of shooting a retired judge had been sentenced to prison by the same judge.
A report yesterday cites Wisconsin Department of Corrections records which reveal that in 2005, Douglas Uhde was sentenced to six years in prison by Judge John Roemer on an armed burglary conviction.
Uhde is suspected of shooting and killing Judge Roemer Friday morning in Roemer’s New Lisbon home. Uhde allegedly shot himself and remains in critical condition.
Uhde, released from prison two years ago, reportedly had a list of more than a dozen potential targets, including Governor Tony Evers, Michigan Governor Gretchen Witmer, and U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
