Pals Program of Brown County
Be a big positive in a little one’s life, become a Pal!
The Pals Program is a mentoring program of Brown County Health & Human Services and pairs adult volunteers with children who could benefit from a positive role model in their life. Volunteers spend time in a recreational or learning activity with their Pal and help their Pal adjust to the separation or loss of a parent, enhance self-esteem and confidence, and learn new skills.
Here’s a testimonial from one of the programs many adult mentors:
“When we joined the PALS program we were paired with an imaginative, energetic, sweet six-year-old. We are enjoying getting to know him and to see how eager he is to learn and to tackle new experiences. Each month we get together two or three times to go to an event or a fun place or play games – he gets to be the focus and to just be a kid. As his mentors, we want to have a regular presence in his life and be two more people he can count on, no matter what changes might happen around him. The PALS staff is amazing, and we look forward to watching our PAL grow in the coming years.”
