MADISON, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network-WSAU) The state Assembly has passed a bill that would raise Wisconsin’s smoking age.
The bipartisan bill would prohibit purchase of cigarettes, tobacco or nicotine products by anyone under age 21. It doesn’t apply to vaping products, after its chief Assembly sponsor, Marshfield Republican John Spiros, deleted that language.
The bill passed the Assembly on its last day of session and is now ready for consideration by the state Senate, which won’t conclude its session until next month.
