MADISON, WI (METRO) – Wisconsin’s blue-ribbon panel on school funding is out with a new report that suggests spending a lot more on public schools in the state.
The Blue Ribbon Commission on School Funding has spent the past year talking with school leaders, teachers, and parents about the needs of local schools.
The panel yesterday released a report that suggests spending another 45-million-dollars on special education over the next two years, as well as spending more on mental health services, and allowing local schools to take more money from local taxpayers.
But the panel is leaving it up to Governor Tony Evers to figure out how to make that happen.
