WAUPACA COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – On Tuesday, a Waupaca County man that was the driver in a fatal hit & run drunk driving crash was convicted.
Court records show that 47-year-old Michael Pribbernow will be sentenced on April 16.
He was arrested several weeks after police found the body of 18-year-old Tim Cruse II lying on Golke Road in Farmington.
According to police, he was struck by a westbound vehicle, which did not stop, while walking on the road.
Pribbernow was convicted of two counts: hit & run involving death and OWI 3rd, after entering Alford pleas.
The suspect maintains his innocence in an Alford plea, but acknowledges the state has enough evidence to obtain a conviction.
According to the Clerk of Counts, homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and knowingly operating with a revoked license were the two other counts that were dismissed, but can be considered at sentencing.
