MILWAUKEE, WI (METRO) – Gio Gonzalez and three relievers combined on a two-hitter as the Brewers blanked the Reds 7-0 in Milwaukee.
Jesus Aguilar and Manny Pina blasted three-run homers for Milwaukee. The Brewers moved to within two-and-half games of the NL Central-leading Cubs, who lost in Arizona.
Cincinnati starter Matt Harvey was tagged for seven runs in five-and-a-third innings to take the loss. Scooter Gennett singled and walked twice in the defeat. The Reds dropped to 29-and-48 on the road.
Milwaukee hits the road after an off day today and will start a weekend series Friday night in Pittsburgh…pre-game at 5:30 on WTAQ.
