GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A Green Bay man has been convicted of distributing drugs which lead to an overdose death.
Witnesses have described seeing 37-year-old David Shanks with baseball-sized quantities of heroin and $5,000 stacks of cash.
Prosecutors are alleging that Shanks sold large quantities of heroin and methamphetamine in both the Green Bay and Iron Mountain, Michigan areas.
Prosecutors say that it was the sale of Shanks heroine that resulted in the death of one person on September 10.
Two people later overdosed on September 22 after consuming drugs sold by Shanks, but they were saved by paramedics.
Shanks faces a mandatory life sentence in prison due to previous felony drug convictions.
