CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) – A man is facing charges in a homicide investigation in Chippewa County. 22-year-old Jesse Lloyd appeared in court Thursday afternoon in connection with the death of Kenneth Patterson. Prosecutors say the shooting last March is from a drug-deal-gone bad. Lloyd and a second man are accused of luring the victim to a remote area in northern Chippewa Falls where he was shot.
Lloyd is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, armed robbery, and being a felon is possession of a firearm.
Investigators found Patterson’s body in March 2016 in a yard in the Town of Eagle Point, near Lake Wissota. A second suspect in the shooting, Matthew Labrec, has already been convicted and is serving jail time. Other accomplices have pled guilty to a series of lesser crimes.
Lloyd’s trial is scheduled to begin October 2nd.
