GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people are facing charges after Green Bay police were called to a report of shots fired on the city’s east side.
Around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to the 1100 block of Stuart Street for a reported suspicious situation after residents in the area heard the sound of gunfire.
Officers went to the vicinity of the reported shots fired and found evidence of gunfire in the 1100 block of Stuart Street and the 200 block of S Roosevelt Street, along with bullet holes in two nearby vehicles.
While investigating, officers saw a firearm inside a vehicle registered to a convicted felon that was parked in the driveway of a residence in the 200 block of S Roosevelt Street. A search warrant was then obtained for the home, where additional firearms and drugs were found.
As a result, police arrested a 23-year-old Green Bay man on a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon and transported him to the Brown County Jail. A charge of maintaining a drug trafficking place is also being referred against a 22-year-old Green Bay woman. At this time, it is unknown whether either individual is connected to the shots fired incident.
No injuries were reported.
