PESHTIGO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A pet cat died in a Peshtigo house fire.
It happened shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Kingston Lane.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they saw heavy smoke showing and flames in the basement and stairwell.
The fire was quickly contained but caused significant interior damage.
It took firefighters several hours to complete extinguishment and remove smoke from the building.
One pet cat was rescued from the home by firefighters but another cat was found deceased.
